2 Urgent Pi Network Updates: Big Changes Coming for Holders & Developers

Date:

  • Though transactions remain restricted, PI is now integrated into Telegram’s wallet, signaling potential for broader adoption.
  • Developers have until May 28 to complete migration and secure their domains without bidding.
  • Developers must optimize apps for PiNet, enhancing usability for both Pi and non-Pi users.

Pi Network has introduced two recent alterations that impact the circumstances of its stakeholders and its development team. The first update establishes that the PI token appears within Telegram’s official wallet, yet users encounter limitations when accessing it.

The second update allows Pi community apps that satisfy specific requirements to obtain domain security through PiNet migration by May 28 without performing the domain name auction process.

PI Token Added to Telegram Wallet with Limitations

Pi News reported that Telegram integrated PI tokens inside its official wallet interface. The messaging app’s wallet interface lets users see their PI tokens without leaving their PI network access point. Users must follow particular usage limitations when accessing the tokens.

While holders can buy, hold, and store PI within the wallet, they cannot transfer the tokens to contacts, withdraw them to external wallets, or receive them from other users. The announcement did not specify if or when these restrictions might be lifted. Despite these limitations, the integration marks a significant step toward increasing PI’s visibility and accessibility within a central platform like Telegram.

PiNet Migration Deadline Extended for Developers

The second major update of Pi Network became available through its official X account, where developers received essential information. The notification informs Pi community app developers who adhere strictly to the established listing guidelines to obtain their domains in a bidding-free process. The exclusive opportunity for domain acquisition is reserved for developers who successfully migrate to PiNet and execute it by May 28.

The length of time was authorized because several developers failed to meet the first migration deadline. The transition process requires developers to verify if they connected their applications to PiNet. Applicants who succeed with their migration have no additional responsibilities because their domain registrations become automatic. Developers who fail to complete their integration must finish the process before the established period ends. Failure to complete migration will make their domains available for auction, and they will fail to secure domain reservations.

All developers must register their PiNet URLs through the Pi Developer Portal, where they can select display configuration options. Developers can choose between presenting a web page in fullscreen mode or using a mobile-style display. Security requirements are implemented through an initial URL that contains random character strings.

The app becomes accessible through the PiNet URLis on users’ app dashboards after successfully registering. Developers must perform the optimization of applications for PiNet alongside improved user experience must be performed by developers. The team instructs developers to improve their application flow so non-Pi users can use it extensively. The latest platform updates focus on Pi Network’s ecosystem development while offering simple instructions for token owners and software developers.
