How March Wrapped Up for Crypto Gaming

Date:

  • March delivered major updates to crypto gaming, shaping its future trajectory.
  • These updates feature the $SEED token launch, backed by the support of the SUI foundation.
  • The SEC dropped its Immutable X probe, plus Forgotten Runiverse and GUNZ updates.

The crypto gaming industry has surged lately, with March delivering major updates to the space. SEED industry has seen major token listings and record-breaking NFT sales, along with blockchain gaming projects expanding into the real world.

Here is a look at some of the biggest updates in the Gamefi space so far.

SEED and Leading the Charge in Web3 Gaming

One of the most exciting developments for the blockchain gaming space was the rise of SEED. SEED aims to redefine Web3 gaming with a strong backing and a growing user base. This project is very unlike traditional Play-to-Earn models that often struggle with sustainability.

Instead, SEED integrated real-world gaming into its operations, allowing its users to enjoy long-term reward systems. One of the major aspects that has pushed SEED forward is its support from the Sui Foundation.

In addition, March saw $SLOVE, one of SEED’s tokens, reach the number two trending spot on DexScreener. The token attracted over 25,000 holders in just three days, with SEED proving again that Web3 gaming is more than just hype. So far, the official $SEED token has launched at the start of April on major exchanges like KuCoin, BingX, MEXC and Cetus.

March also saw some other major updates along the way, aside from the strides with $SEED. For example, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) dropped its ongoing investigation into Immutable without any enforcement action.

The agency had previously issued a Wells Notice to the Ethereum-based gaming platform in October of last year, on suspicion of securities law violations with the platform’s $IMX token. So far, the regulator has found no wrongdoing, and $IMX is set to soar soon.

On the other hand, the blockchain-powered shooter game Off the Grid has been operating on the Avalanche-based GUNZ testnet so far. The game transitioned to its mainnet alongside the launch of its $GUN token on 31 March, with Binance listing the token under its seed tag.

In other news, Forgotten Runiverse, the Ethereum NFT-based game, launched on the Ronin Network on 26 March. This came after three years of development and over 1 million hours of testing. The game is inspired by the Forgotten Runes Wizard’s Cult NFT collection and offers players the ability to master spells, build in-game structures, earn rewards, and do much more. Finally, GameStop, which was once a struggling retail chain, has just updated its investment policy to accommodate Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset.

So far, this move aligns with the company’s latest financial strategy, which involves raising $1.3 billion through convertible senior notes.

The Future of Crypto Gaming

Overall, March has been a major month of growth for the blockchain industry, with the focus now shifting from short-term speculation to long-term investment. April has just begun, and all eyes are on the $SEED and $GUN tokens, along with GameStop’s next crypto moves.
